Sutton, Ont. Aug-23-08--Running with the bulls Portuguese style. Some 3,000 people attended a two day "Tourada a Corda" festival held at Madeira Park near Sutton to experience the Azorian Style "Bull on a Rope". Unlike the traditional bullfights, spectators are invited to jump into the ring with a bull and try to avoid the charging animal. Professional handlers hold on to the rope and are supposed to pull back on it to prevent the charging bull from goring the runners. Too much slack doesn't always keep the bull in charge as in this case, where runner was forced to jump on to a haystack to avoid a horn up the ying yang. Festival was sponsored by Portuguese television program Gente da Nossa hosted by former Toronto School Board Trustee, Nellie Pedro.0823
